Breast augmentation (Augmentation mammaplasty)

breast augmentaion
Example of a female breast, before (red) and after augmentation (blue).

Reasons for this operation are the following: small breasts, slightly sagging breasts, asymmetric breasts, and tubular breasts.

The operation

Via a small incision in the inframammary region, in the armpit, at the border of the nipple-areolar complex or through the areola, an implant pocket is created. The implant is positioned either in front of or behind the large breast muscle, depending on the thickness of the subcutaneous tissue. The implants are usually filled with silicone gel and can have a round or an anatomical shape.
